Bills Make Historic Josh Allen Announcement After Win Over Saints

While the Buffalo Bills’ matchup against the New Orleans Saints turned out to be much closer than expected, they ultimately walked away with a 31-19 victory in Week 4.

The Bills are now 4-0 on the season for the first time since 2020. While Bills quarterback Josh Allen threw his first interception of the season, and Buffalo held a 21-19 lead over the Saints midway through the fourth quarter, a team they were predicted to beat by two touchdowns, the league’s reigning MVP went into superhero mode.

On the next offensive possession, Allen rushed the ball for 27 yards before connecting with tight end Dalton Kincaid for a 28-yard touchdown pass.

“There’s an incredible will to win and spirit about him,” Bills head coach Sean McDermott told reporters after the game. “And I love it. When he made that run, when he raises his level of play, it’s like okay boys [and] they raise their level of play. They knew what time it was.”

It was far from a perfect game for Buffalo, and Allen took full responsibility for his role in their mistakes. “We gotta be better offense, and it starts with me,” he told reporters after the game.

“Just gotta stay ahead of the sticks. We weren’t doing ourselves any favors. Couple [of] bone-headed penalties, bone-headed mistakes, throwing a pick. Doesn’t help. Defense had our back, though. They played great all day today. Just gotta keep finding ways to keep moving the ball… and not turn the ball over.”

While Allen remains his biggest critic, the 29-year-old quarterback made NFL history against the Saints.

Allen completed 16-of-22 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns against the Saints, along with 7 carries for 45 yards and a score.

The Bills’ official PR account posted on X, “Today marks Josh Allen’s 45th career game with a rushing and passing touchdown, tying Cam Newton for the most games with a pass & rushing TD in NFL history.”

Based on Allen’s performance thus far this season, it’s a safe bet he’ll surpass Newton’s record sooner rather than later. The Wyoming alum, in his eighth year in the NFL, remains one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the league.

Josh Allen Praised James Cook After The Bills RB Broke A New Franchise Record

Bills running back James Cook rushed for over 100 yards for his eighth consecutive game, a new franchise record. He’s recorded at least 100 yards and a touchdown in each game this season.

“It seems like he’s getting better each and every week,” Allen told reporters of Cook, “which is hard to imagine. The way he kind of has this patience to hit the hole, but when he hits it, he’s shot out of a cannon. His contact balance is unbelievable… Glad he’s on our team.”
